She has been writing and performing for audiences around the country since she was 17, and is influenced by artists widely ranging in style, from Diane Cluck to Jason Isbell, Phoebe Bridgers to Kacey Musgraves. “She accomplishes the rare feat of encapsulating confidence and vulnerability in a single performance”, says Independent Clauses.com. "…the voice of a folk queen, Kira Velella has captured hearts with her raw, triumphant sound…The answer to modern folk music," says TheMostIndietastic.com. Kira has performed at legendary antifolk venue, Sidewalk Cafe, listening rooms, Caffe Vivaldi and Rockwood Music Hall, the historic Capri Theatre in Gaffney, SC, as well as renowned songwriter showcases, Homegrown Music Cafe, Live in the Lobby at the Patchogue Theatre and LIVE at Deepwell's on Long Island. Kira released her debut EP, Daughter, in 2013. She continues to write and perform and is overjoyed to now be releasing new singles, with a full-length album to follow. |
