Lisa has been working on human and environmental rights issues for nearly a decade as they relate to energy policy, natural gas development and the controversial practice of hydraulic fracturing. She is the author of the newly released field guide to social justice and political reform, titled “You And What Army? How to Neutralize Conflict and Negotiate Justice”. And, our pal Steve Wiehe will check in from Florida to give us his take on current events. For music we will honor the wonderful life of Cesaria Evora. She died Saturday at age 70 in Mindelo on her native island of Sao Vicente – Cape Verde Islands. She sang in her native style called Morna. She also sang in Cape Verde’s more upbeat styles as well. A NYT review described her as a “Yoda of melancholy” – the NYT obit can be found at http://tinyurl.com/7cjm8t7 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesária_Évora Jim Dexter playlist for 12/20/2011By Jim Dexter on Tue, 12/20/2011 - 6:38amJim's Show for Tuesday December 20, 2011 |
