Joining us will be Stuart Streichler. Stuart teaches courses in political science and law at the University of Washington. Before his academic career, Streichler clerked for a federal appellate judge and then practiced law in Washington, DC, where he participated in briefing the Supreme Court. He is the author of Justice Curtis in the Civil War Era: At the Crossroads of American Constitutionalism (University of Virginia Press, 2005), a book that analyzes the Supreme Court in another contentious period in American history. Besides numerous scholarly articles, his commentaries on law and politics have appeared in the Miami Herald, Legal Times, Global Dialogue, and The Nation.

Dr. C. Alex Young is the Associate Director for Science in the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. In this role he is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Education and Public Outreach team for the division. He works with the EPO teams as a liason with the NASA offices of Education and Communication. In addition, he works with the division scientists to promote and support their research.

In graduate school at the University of New Hampshire, Dr. Young studied the high energy astrophysics of cosmic gamma-ray bursts and gamma-ray solar flares.
