Part of the Osborne Brothers, 1971 CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Sonny Osborne began his career playing with Bill Monroe and Jimmy Martin when he was 14. Sonny Osborne is a bluegrass singer and five-string banjo player. A master of the style developed by Earl Scruggs, called the "Scruggs style", he is best known for his collaboration with his brother Bobby Osborne as the Osborne Brothers. Their brother harmonies and trios were the gold standard for the second half of the twentieth century. Recording with greats such as Gary Burton, Chet Atkins, Carl Smith, and countless others, Sonny Osborne has seen it all.
