Joining us will be Dan Berger. Dan is Associate Professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies at the University of Washington Bothell, where he teaches classes on racism, prisons, and social movements. He is the author or editor of six books, including Captive Nation: Black Prison Organizing in the Civil Rights Era (UNC Press, 2014) and Rethinking the American Prison Movement (Routledge, 2018). His writings appear in publications such as Black Perspectives, Truthout, and the Washington Post. He is a longtime activist against prisons and a cofounder of Decarcerate PA.
