Progressive Solutions playlist for 09/25/2018

OUR PROGRAM TODAY will focus on the Supreme Court. We will summarize the latest Kavanaugh confirmation drama and also step back and view all of this in the context of both history and factional agendas. Guest co-host Steve Wiehe will add to the confusion with his observations and readings.

Joining us will be Stuart Streichler. Stuart teaches courses in political science and law at the University of Washington. Before his academic career, Streichler clerked for a federal appellate judge and then practiced law in Washington, DC, where he participated in briefing the Supreme Court. He is the author of Justice Curtis in the Civil War Era: At the Crossroads of American Constitutionalism (University of Virginia Press, 2005), a book that analyzes the Supreme Court in another contentious period in American history. Besides numerous scholarly articles, his commentaries on law and politics have appeared in the Miami Herald, Legal Times, Global Dialogue, and The Nation.
