Happy New YEAR!!!! Back in the studio at WUSB after a cross country journey that started on the shores of the Pacific Ocean where the Torrey Pine grows ... up to the Continental Divide where winter reigns ... and back to beloved Stony Brook.

Today's program has three themes relating to the new year thang .... a discussion with Stan White regarding Marijuana Legalization in Colorado; honoring a few of our favorite musicians that passed over the last year (or so); and my xcountry journey.

Today's album side is from Merle Saunders, a gem from 1973 ... Side A of "Fire Up". Featuring Jerry Garcia, Tom Fogerty, John Kahn (on keyborards), Bill Vitt, and many others. truly a wonderful flashback moment.

My Mom's recipe for Homemade Pizza -- a delicious chicken sausage vegetable medley. She served tis to us the other night after a day skiing ,,, and boy oh boy .. it hit the spot. Hope you too can enjoy it!

Go to the Media Awareness Project's website --- http://mapinc.org --- for Stan White's articles on Marijuana Legalization. Marijuana Policy Project , Rob Kampia. http://cannabisnews.com

LUNCHTIME is a weekly Friday mid-day program serving up deliciously sounding music/tales of real life experience ... like the boy in the bubble who (didn't) float in a kite/balloon yesterday. Fortunately he was just hiding in the garage

But seriously IT"S RADIOTHON and the heat is turned up in the kitchen for this special Radiothon Edition of Lunchtime.

First it's four of my favorites music released in the past year (2009), Played two sets of these because we're WUSB and if it feels good than we do it!

Today's Album Side is a B Side that we played the A side to a few weeks back. Dire Straits, 1978 recording Dire Straits Side B.
