On today's program we previewed next weekend's Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and did an associated ticket giveaway. We also featured some tracks from a fine new album by Missy Raines and the New Hip and two tracks from the South Carolina-based duo, Shovels & Rope, who did a most impressive set at yesterday's Newport Folk Festival. Also we remembered J.J.Cale,who passed away on Friday at age 74.

An all-Dylan Program to celebrate his 72nd Birthday this Friday. We also featured songs associated with his second album, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, which sees the 50th anniversary of its release this month. The program included several selections from the May 11th University Cafe celebration of Dylan's music. Pete and Maura Kennedy, Rod MacDonald, Russ Seeger, Steve Kaplan, Brian Kachejian and Bill Herman were the ensemble sharing Dylan songs that evening, with a guest appearance by WUSB's Mary Lamont, with Jim Marchese.
