TODAY we will speak with Patrick Burns of the Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (http://TAF.org). TAF is a nonprofit public interest organization dedicated to combating fraud against the Federal Government through the promotion and use of the federal False Claims Act and its qui tam provisions.

Patrick has been Director of Communications at Taxpayers Against Fraud since 2004. He is a graduate of Oberlin College (BA) and Georgetown University (Masters). Mr. Burns has spent 28 years in the nonprofit arena, and appeared on such diverse shows as The Today Show, Hardball, Good Morning America, The Newshour, Nightline and Crossfire. He has authored scores of editorials in major newspapers across the United States, and has worked for 14 years on Medicare, Social Security and prescription drug issues, as well as an additional decade on population growth and and street drug crime issues.

In a recent New York Times bestseller on the $60 billion Bernie Madoff fraud, whistleblower Harry Markopolos says of Mr. Burns, "I think it's accurate to say he knows more about white collar fraud in the United States than any man in history." Of course Mr. Burns always points out the title of that book.... No One Would Listen.
