Sound Beach Music, located next to the Sylvan Avenue Park in Miller Place, has been serving local musicians since 1978. They specialize in selling, buying and appraising Musical Instruments, as well as providing Lessons, Rentals and Repairs. Their two-floor, 5000 square foot retail store has a huge selection of new and used musical instruments and accessories ranging from entry level to master quality and vintage.

They sell and rent guitars, basses, drums, band and orchestral instruments, keyboards and digital pianos, PA systems, sheet music, ukuleles, bluegrass family instruments and much more. All used instruments have been professionally vetted, repaired or serviced by their in-house technicians before making it to the showroom floor. They are proud dealers for instrument brands like CF Martin, Ibanez, Conn-Selmer, Casio, Tama, Zildjian, Roland, Supro and many more.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Sound Beach Music had a roster of 350 lessons per week in their 10 lower-level lesson studios, with classes for just about any instrument. Their facilities include drum lesson rooms with 2 full drum sets per room, 5 piano rooms and an ensemble room for full band rehearsals. They currently have a staff of 25 teachers, all of which have made themselves available for online lessons during the pandemic.

Even though they have done everything in their power to offer their services in some capacity during the NYS small business shut down, they have seen their business drop by 70%. Brian Chabza, the owner of the store since 2014, was proud to report that he maintained employee payroll through the pandemic and is hopefully looking forward to picking up the pieces in the months and years to come.
