Interview with Jim Breuer, Sounds of Film 3:45 PM Thursday 5/28

Tune into a special edition of Tom Needham's The Sounds of Film at 3:45PM on WUSB to hear an extended-interview with comedy legend, Jim Breuer, who will be talking about his new Epix special, Jim Breuer:Comedy Frenzy, which was recently shot on Long Island at the Paramount Theater.  Jim Breuer was recently named one of Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.  Jim will be talking about growing up on Long Island, being a cast member on Saturday Night Live, acting in the film Half Baked, being a regular guest on the Howard Stern Show, and performing his popular stand-up routines about his family and heavy metal music.

TEDxSBUWomen on WUSB

WUSB will be broadcasting the TEDxSBUWomen conference on Thursday, May 28, starting at 11:00 AM. The conference will  celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in Stony Brook and the wider community as well as a chance to take a look at some of the barriers that are preventing women from achieving their full potential.

Katrina Vanden Heuvel on the Sounds of Film

Tune into the Sounds of Film this Thursday to hear an exclusive conversation with Tom Needham and Katrina Vanden Heuvel, who is featured in the new documentary, Hot Type: 150 Years of the Nation, directed by Academy Award-Winner Barbara Kopple.  Katrina Vanden Heuvel is the editor, publisher and part-owner of the Nation Magazine.  She is a frequent guest on numerous television shows, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.  She recently made news with her Edward Snowden interview.
